Woodworm

What we commonly call woodworm encompasses larvae of multiple species of beetles (beetles).
In this phase they feed on the wood, while drilling it and forming galleries. The most characteristic sign is the holes they make in their last stage when they come out and become adult beetles. Also a dust similar to sawdust.
Woodworm is the most common and devastating pest in structural profiles of wood, furniture, and artwork.

Fungi

Rot fungi feed on the components that make up the wall of the wood cells, which is precisely what gives the typical resistance properties of this material.
When the wood is attacked by these xylophagous fungi, its resistance is compromised, and the structure can collapse and fall if it is not reinforced in time.

Ants

Carpenter ants are a series of species of ants that have in common the creation of colonies inside wood.
Once nested, they are difficult to remove. They can be thousands of members. The workers are forced to continue digging in the wood to enlarge the nest as the colony increases. That is why the damage caused can be serious and costly.
They remain active all year round and can be found both outdoors (pergolas, shelves, benches, etc.) and indoors (frames, railings, panelling, furniture,…).

Termites

They can be of 2 types: underground and drywood.
Drywood termites, belonging to the genus Kalotermes, feed on and live within the affected wood. That is why the bait system will not be effective with this type of termite.
These termites are very active and can cause very serious damage to attacked woods.

The first step is to identify the affected areas and the type of organism that is attacking your wood.
